In collaboration with our March of Dimes NICU Family Support Program, we are excited to offer our community an Infant CPR class option.
Infant CPR offers lifesaving safety information. This non-certification Infant CPR class is designed specifically for expectant parents. Our essential hands-on class provides the skills and confidence to turn a life-threatening situation into a lifesaving one. Come gain the confidence, skills and knowledge essential to saving an infant's life.

Whether you're a fitness enthusiast or just starting out, our experienced trainers will guide you every step of the way. Join us for this opportunity to boost your overall health and well-being.

Looking for others on their journey to eating healthier? Do you need some inspiration or want to try new dishes? Come join us to learn about the benefits of Whole Food Plant Based Nutrition (WFPBN) every first Tuesday of the month.
There is no need to register. Please adhere to WFPBN guidelines (no meat, dairy or oil and minimal added sugar and salt) and bring the recipe to share. Reach out to Lori at lboyd2@srhs.com if you'd like some recommendations about where to find recipe ideas.

Join Dr. Janet LeFrancois, certified yoga therapist and Iyengar yoga teacher, at the Gibbs Cancer Center Conference room in Spartanburg to practice basic to advanced yoga with a focus on cancer patients and survivors. Attendees are welcome to bring their own mats, blocks and other yoga tools to the class. If this is your first time attending, a mat and block will be provided for you to use.

Breast Cancer Support Group - Hybrid

The Survivorship Program offers a unique, monthly opportunity for breast cancer patients and survivors to connect with one another at no charge.
Research shows that taking part in support groups where you both give and receive help is an effective way to reduce stress and anxiety that can come with a breast cancer diagnosis.
This support group will be led by Gail Ebert, MMFT, LMFT-A, CAMS-II, CPC of Illuminate Therapy, Spartanburg.
This event will be held in person at Gibbs Cancer Center –Spartanburg. If you are unable to attend in person, a virtual attendance option is available for this event.

Cleveland Park Events Center
Falls in people ages 65 and older are among the most common injuries in that age population. As a result, many seniors are unable to remain independent.
The Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL) program is a free fall prevention program that includes a one-hour, twice-per-week group fitness class where all participants work at their own pace. Anyone over the age of 50, including those who use walkers or canes, can participate in the SAIL program.

Cleveland Park Events Center
Join Carolyn Bailey, Trauma Injury Prevention Coordinator, each Wednesday for Balance and Breathe Yoga. Slips, trips and falls are the leading causes of injury for older adults. This class is designed to help prevent the process of deterioration and loss of muscle mass that can lead to falls.

Head and Neck Cancer Support Group-Hybrid

Have you recently been diagnosed with head and neck cancer? Are you undergoing treatment or are a survivor?
Join us at Gibbs Cancer Center – Pelham for our head and neck cancer support group. The group is associated with the Support for Oral and Head and Neck Cancer organization. This group is open to anyone at any stage of diagnosis or survivorship.

Nearly half of American adults have high blood pressure. High blood pressure increases your risk for serious health problems, including stroke and heart attack.
Pelham Medical Center partners with Middle Tyger YMCA Family Center to offer free blood pressure screenings. In addition to having your blood pressure checked, you will receive a tracking card to help keep up with your numbers plus education about what the numbers mean and ways to control hypertension.
Just the Ticket

During this comprehensive course, offered by Spartanburg Medical Center and Safe Kids of the Piedmont, you will learn about South Carolina's child passenger safety laws, the safest way to secure your child in a vehicle, proper car seat installation, when to update or replace your child's car seat and other safety tips to help keep your child safe on the road.
Attendees who have violations of the child passenger occupant law on their records can receive a certificate of completion as proof of participation. This class is only offered once for child passenger occupant violations.

Diabetes Wellness Circle

Join us at noon on the third Tuesday of every month for this hybrid (virtual and in-person) support group. Meetings are designed for 30-45 minutes of education followed by 15-30 minutes of discussion. Please join the meeting then stay as long as you are able. This is a hybrid meeting, so you may come in person or join us virtually through Microsoft Teams.
If you would like to come in person, you must call (864-560-6487) or email Madison (mapate@srhs.com) to reserve your seat in the classroom as space is limited. If you do not contact us directly, a link to the virtual meeting will be sent the day before through your email.
Cardiac Connection: Dementia 101

This month Stephanie Yelder, Dementia Care Specialist at the South Carolina Department on Aging, will be discussing ways to prevent dementia and Alzheimer's and how these diseases relate to cardiovascular disease.
Cardiac Connection is a welcoming and interactive opportunity to stay motivated, informed and connected during your heart wellness journey. This event is open to all who want to learn more about stroke and heart attack prevention.

Cook along with the Culinary Medicine Program of Oncology Support Services in our teaching kitchen.
This series consists of four hands-on cooking classes and will cover a variety of different techniques to make home prepared meals easier, fun and help support your body on your journey of cancer survivorship.
Please register only if you can commit to all four classes held once per month every third Thursday, June through September.

Safe Kids 101 for New and Expecting Parents
Thursday, June 18, 4 to 5 p.m.

This one-hour webinar includes safety topics that will help you keep your child safe and avoid accidents and injuries.
This class will share information about basic car seat features, installation techniques and how to choose an appropriate car seat based on your child's age, height and weight.
Learn ways to avoid accidents in the home involving fire, burns, drowning, falls and poisonings. Know how to identify safe and unsafe sleep environments for your baby. This is an online event. You will receive the link to the event after you register.
Weight Loss Surgery-Online Support Group

This group provides Upstate area support for patients in all phases of the weight loss surgery process. Combined with the help of friends and family members, this support group allows you to network with others who have experienced similar challenges and lifestyle changes after weight loss surgery. Patients who have not yet had surgery are encouraged to attend.
Union: Men’s Health Education and Prostate Screening
Thursday, June 18, 4 to 7 p.m.
Take some time to think about your health.
Join us for a free men’s health education and screening event. We’ll offer health screenings, food, vendors and more. Regenesis Healthcare will provide free HIV and A1C testing. Registration is required if you plan to join us for dinner.
Free Prostate Cancer Screenings
Gibbs Cancer Center will offer free prostate cancer screenings from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for those who qualify.
Do you qualify?
You may receive a prostate cancer screening if you:
- Are a man aged 50–70
- Do not have insurance
- Have not had a PSA draw in the past year
If you meet these criteria, you qualify. The screening is a simple blood draw, and results are available in 7–14 days.
Registration is required if you qualify for a prostate cancer screening.
If you plan to join us for dinner and also qualify for the prostate screening, please register under each ticket type.

Prepared Childbirth eClass
Online
This class provides you with answers to your questions and important information so you can be an active participant in your birth experience. This is an online, self-paced class.
After completing this class, you will be able to:
- Make informed healthcare decisions, from pregnancy through postpartum
- Feel prepared for birth by learning the stages of labor, comfort techniques and common medical procedures
- Identify and communicate your birth preferences with your healthcare team
- Know what to expect from newborn and postpartum care, including important warning signs
