Residents of the Boiling Springs community have a new choice for comprehensive primary care with the arrival of Chase Bennett, DO, at Medical Group of the Carolinas – Family Medicine – Boiling Springs. 

For Dr. Bennett, the path to medicine wasn’t something he planned. 

Growing up in North Carolina, he initially thought he would pursue a career in business, following in the footsteps of family members. That changed during his undergraduate years at Brigham Young University – Idaho when he began exploring healthcare careers and shadowing other family medicine physicians. 

“I started taking classes, did some shadowing and met physicians who let me come and watch what they do. I thought, ‘That’s what I want to do,’” Dr. Bennett said. 

Those early experiences with family medicine physicians in Idaho left a lasting impact. Their encouragement and dedication to caring for patients across every stage of life inspired him to pursue medicine. 

After earning his medical degree from Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Bennett completed his residency training at Prisma Health Greer Family Medicine Residency. 

When considering where to begin his career, Spartanburg Regional quickly emerged as the right fit. 

“I knew a few doctors working here, and they spoke highly about the work environment,” he said. “They felt supported by their coworkers and were able to practice medicine in the way they felt was best for their patients.” 

As an osteopathic physician, Dr. Bennett values treating the whole person, not just addressing symptoms. That philosophy shapes every patient interaction. 

“When I meet a new patient, I try to figure out what their goals are,” he said. “Everybody comes from a different place and has different priorities. I want to understand what they’re hoping to achieve and then help them get there.” 

Whether patients prefer lifestyle-focused interventions, medication management, or a combination of both, Dr. Bennett believes treatment plans should be personalized to reflect everyone's goals. 

“I get to know my patients well over time,” he said. “You get to be there during the good times and the bad times. That’s one of the most rewarding parts of family medicine.” 

Dr. Bennett welcomes patients of all ages and has a particular interest in musculoskeletal injuries, depression, anxiety and weight-related conditions. Like many family physicians, however, he enjoys the variety that comes with caring for multiple generations of the same family. 

Outside of medicine, Dr. Bennett stays busy with his family. 

He and his wife have three children and enjoy spending time together and staying active in the Upstate, which Dr. Bennett describes as the ideal place to raise a family thanks to its numerous activities and things to do and see.
