Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October by encouraging early detection and education. More than 2 million women in the United States are breast cancer survivors, and breast cancer is the second leading cause of death from cancer for women.

Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute and the Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Health at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System work to fight breast cancer by educating women on cancer prevention through healthy choices and early cancer detection with mammograms and screenings.

Early detection of breast cancer allows for more treatment options, less extensive surgery and better outcomes. The Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Health is committed to making life-saving mammography screenings available to women where it's convenient for them.

With locations in Spartanburg and Greer, as well as a mobile mammography unit that visits area businesses, churches, organizations and events across Spartanburg, Cherokee, Greenville and Union counties, SRHS helps women overcome barriers that often prevent them from having these screenings.
