As an avid reader, Dr. Casey Holmes remembers her junior high years as a time she pored through the pages of notable physician biographies, enamored with their passion and expertise in patient care. She loved the inspiring stories of those called to care for others.  

It was only natural that she pursued a career in medicine, earning her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and later completing her residency in family medicine at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood. 

Dr. Holmes is now excited to accept new patients with Medical Group of the Carolinas – Family Medicine – Inman. 

She explained that effective treatment in family medicine often requires a learning curve for patients, as it involves providing education and creating a sense of comfort – both of which help her build trust and understanding with each patient. 

“They have to understand the importance of what you’re saying, and you have to be able to understand where they’re coming from,” Dr. Holmes said. 

Dr. Holmes wants to partner with each patient to work through their unique challenges together. She has a specific special interest in women’s health and patients with chronic illnesses. 

Dr. Holmes wants to help patients understand the “why” behind their medical treatment and lifestyle changes. 

“You have to help them understand things like why they would need a certain medication and why they need to exercise,” Dr. Holmes said. 

When not seeing patients, Dr. Holmes spends her free time with her two boys, riding bikes and enjoying the outdoors. She also likes crocheting and knitting. 

Dr. Holmes is looking forward to joining a growing team of excellent providers at MGC – Family Medicine – Inman.
