Hangar B raises more than $140,000 for heart care
Community members look forward to the Hangar B dance party each year – and the 2018 edition didn't disappoint.
Party on the Moon, billed as America's top party band, was back to perform a high-energy collection of songs ranging from Motown to contemporary R&B to classic rock hits. A new sponsorship by Willy Taco and FR8yard, two of Spartanburg's most popular eateries, provided a delicious buffet that received rave reviews.
A crowd of roughly 1,400 was on hand for the event, held each year at the Spartanburg Downtown Memorial Airport.
“We are so pleased to have so many community members come out to support heart services at Spartanburg Regional,” said Kristy Caradori, executive director of Spartanburg Regional Foundation. “We're grateful for all who attended and want to specifically recognize the many sponsors and volunteers who helped make Hangar B for Heart a tremendous success in 2018.”
Based on ticket sales and sponsorships, more than $140,000 was netted to support the Spartanburg Regional Heart Center.
Nationally recognized for excellence, the heart center receives support from donors to Spartanburg Regional Foundation. From promoting disease prevention and staff training to providing direct assistance to patients in financial need and more, Spartanburg Regional Foundation donors help to elevate heart health in our community.
Hangar B is one of three signature fundraising events hosted annually by Spartanburg Regional Foundation. An Uplifting Event is a luncheon held each October to raise funds in the fight against breast cancer. And the Hope Blooms luncheon, which takes place in May, supports patients and families served by Spartanburg Regional Hospice.
